Coding is the process of organizing and sorting your data.
Codes serve as a way to label, compile and organize your data. They are the basis for developing the analysis.
It is important to develop your set of codes before analyzing the interview transcriptions.
Without a coding scheme, you may end up not knowing what to write and time will be wasted.
It is helpful to revisit your research question(s) thoroughly before you develop your coding scheme.
